It’s the kind of place that we would go back to every time we are visiting the Charleston area, because its so it's nice to have an authentic eatery that isn’t a national chain.
We would love to work our way down the menu. They have a strong local following, which is a sure sign of what a special place this really is.
We highly recommend the Charleston Bakery and would gladly send any of our closest friends and family there. We hope to see you there on our next Carolina One Tank Trip. If you go, please remember to come back and share with us your thoughts and any additional tips.

The Charleston Bakery in Summerville SC is an excellent choice for anyone visiting the area. While visiting Charleston we were looking for a ligth and easy breakfast cafe near the airport. Mostly what we found was chain restaurants. So we decided to wander off the beatin' path and stumbled on this quint little bakery on the outskirts.
Unlike most downtown locations which usually have a wait and can be over crowed, the Charleston Bakery feels more like a neighborhood deli. You won’t feel rushed to eat and you can really relax and enjoy your meal.
We spent nearly an hour there as our son ran around and danced to the smooth sounds playing on the outside patio. While there is nothing fancy, it is very clean, presentable, with good service and excellent food. The patio was great as it was covered, well decorated and very comfortable to park for a while and enjoy.
We had the bagels and muffins which are extremely good and when they put cream cheese on it, they put cream cheese on it. From what we hear the quiche is outstanding and their breakfast has hearty portions and very good food. They are also known to have excellent corned beef hash.
Everything is freshly prepared and the cakes are moist, the breads are fresh, the meat is juicy, the salads are crisp, the jalapeno grits are addictive and the portions are huge!
They have a great selection of foods and baked goods with lots of choices.

Charleston Bakery - You won't find it unless your looking for it...and yes, you will want to find this if you want a fantastic local flavor!
Isle Of Palms - Pristine beach, well placed playground right on the beach, and gauranteed great memories.
Folly Beach - what you would expect from a tourist beach. The locals know how to enjoy life with great food and a hip downtown. If you're looking for a party...this may be your beach.
